Fortnite Brings Metallica to the Battle Royale Arena: Epic Games Announces Season 4 “Festival”

Legendary Rock Band Metallica to Headline Fortnite’s Latest Season with Special Events and Exclusive Content

Epic Games has announced an electrifying addition to Fortnite’s Season 4 “Festival” icons with the inclusion of the legendary rock band Metallica. Known for their high-energy performances and iconic hits, Metallica will bring a new level of excitement to Fortnite, engaging players with a series of special events and exclusive content. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and Lars Ulrich will headline two special events titled “Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury” on June 22 and 23. These events will be presented during six showtimes, offering players an immersive journey through six of Metallica’s fan-favorite songs, featuring gameplay that matches the intensity of their music.

Fortnite players can look forward to unlocking new Metallica-themed outfits through the in-game “Festival” pass and the shop. These outfits will allow players to embody the spirit of Metallica, adding a rock-and-roll flair to their Fortnite experience. In addition to the outfits, the “Festival” mode will receive an upgrade with the introduction of a new PvP Battle Stage. In this mode, sixteen players enter the stage, but only one will emerge victorious in a musical free-for-all. This new feature promises to be a thrilling addition, combining the competitive nature of Fortnite with the high-octane energy of a Metallica concert.

The premium tier of the “Festival” pass includes Metallica’s iconic track “One,” giving players a chance to jam to one of the band’s most beloved songs. Other Metallica songs available for purchase in the shop include “Enter Sandman,” “Fuel,” “Master of Puppets,” “Ride the Lightning,” “The Unforgiven,” and R 20;Wherever I May Roam.” These tracks will provide the perfect soundtrack for players as they navigate the various challenges and battles within Fortnite.

Fortnite’s “Battle Royale” mode will also receive a heavy metal upgrade with the introduction of “Ride the Lightning” guitars. These special guitars will allow players to create a lightning arc in the sky that their squadmates can ride, adding a new strategic element to the game. In the middle of every match, the floating Metallica Loot Island will rift from a hole in the sky, boasting a stage inspired by the M72 World Tour. This island will provide players with unique opportunities and rewards, making each match even more exciting.

Rocket Racing in Fortnite will get a rock-inspired twist with the new Thrash Mountain track. This volcanic circuit is a tribute to all things rock, featuring instrumental monuments, a stretch of road designed like a fretboard, and Metallica’s “Fuel” playing in the background. This new track will offer players a unique and thrilling racing experience, combining the adrenaline of rock music with the high-speed excitement of Rocket Racing.

With this collaboration, Metallica joins a prestigious lineup of previous Fortnite Festival icons, including The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish. This partnership not only highlights the versatility and broad appeal of Fortnite but also showcases Epic Games’ commitment to providing players with unique and engaging content. By bringing Metallica into the Fortnite universe, Epic Games is offering players an unprecedented opportunity to experience the power and intensity of one of rock’s most iconic bands.

Fortnite’s Season 4 “Festival” promises to be a game-changer, with Metallica’s involvement adding a new dimension to the game. Players can look forward to an array of new content, exciting gameplay features, and the chance to rock out with one of the greatest bands in history. Whether you’re a longtime Metallica fan or a dedicated Fortnite player, this collaboration is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience.
